I hadn’t been to a cacao ceremony in ages, but something inside nudged me to go.
The circle was great, especially since there were plenty of other men there too—something that’s not often the case with these events. It shows that Lucia has created a space where men feel comfortable opening up and connecting with one another. As a man, I really value that.
I’m deeply grateful for the chance to listen to others, connect, and share a bit of my own journey.
I also reconnected with my sense of humor—something I’d forgotten in the midst of life’s seriousness. Life’s too short for that (so put the kettle on!). Lucia has always had a brilliant sense of humor, and it was great to see her poking fun at my pink stretchy trousers and silk eye mask.
The whole group found their laughs, and that’s a healing medicine in its own right. It’s no surprise, considering how much serotonin (the “happy hormone”) is in cacao, and the safe, authentic space she has created.
Thanks again, Cia. I’ll be back, and I hope to see you and more of today’s group in the future.
A’Ha!
